Alex Garcia was born in 1981 in Baltimore, Maryland. He began his formal fine art training at the age of 13 under Maryland artist Victor Janishefski, with whom he studied until he was 18. He then attended the Ringling School of Art and Design in Florida where he received his BFA in computer animation. He began working in feature film visual effects shortly thereafter and moved to Los Angeles, California. After settling in Los Angeles he continued his studies under LA based artist and teacher Richard Morris. Alex is presently working at Walt Disney Feature Animation as a Digital Matte Painter/Environment Generalist and has been there for the last 10 years.
